ANDALUSITE

Andalusite is named after Andalusia, the province of Spain where it was first discovered. Andalusite is a strongly pleiochroic gem, which means that is different colors when viewed from different directions. However, it is not a color-change stone because the colors are present at the same time. Most faceted andalusites give a play of red, green, and yellow colors. Because of its color and durability, it is a great gem for most jewelry uses.
